"In all the years of regular blood tests and treadmill tests done by my primary health care provider, no heart disease risk was ever found. However, when I went to a health fair at the Northern California Jain Center in November 2011, and got my initial heart risk assessment and blood work done by the South Asian Heart Center, I was shocked to learn that I was at high risk for a heart attack. I was advised to follow up with a Calcium CT Scan, which indicated that I had heart disease already and the level of calcification was very high for a person my age and gender. This scan and the blood test - both advanced and comprehensive assessments of my cardiac health - played a crucial role in convincing my primary health care provider to schedule an angiogram immediately, which resulted in placement of multiple stents in my arteries (90% clogged), including the LAD artery. I strongly believe that the Center's timely assessment helped me prevent a heart attack."

Also, the annual retests at the Center keep a valuable check on my health.
